Director of Development and Operations (Full-Time)

As the Director of Development and Operations, you will provide overall leadership of ChildServe Foundation's operations, including major and planned gifts, annual giving, events, capital campaigns, corporate giving, donor stewardship, data analytics, and foundation reporting.  
 
What You'll Do
  • Provide leadership of fundraising programs including major and planned gifts, annual giving, events, capital campaigns, corporate giving, and donor stewardship to achieve organizational fundraising goals.
  • Lead and manage major, corporate, and planned gifts through actively managing a portfolio of donors and prospects.
  • Advance a culture of philanthropy in collaboration with donors, the board, CEO, SVP of External Relations, and Foundation team members.
  • Advance the ChildServe brand through engagement with community members and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee and lead data analytics and foundation reporting and ensure all donor information is updated in the Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge database.
  • In partnership with the SVP of External Relations, ensure fiscal responsibility for all appropriations, administration of restricted and endowed funds, and audit and compliance issues.
  • In partnership with the SVP of Finance, ensure financial accountability and reporting of donations to the foundation.
  • Lead Foundation team meetings to ensure focus, alignment, and execution of the team's annual plans and departmental goals.
  • Supervise the support team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure staff development to achieve high results. Promote engagement and satisfaction to drive retention. Collaborate with the management team to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • In partnership with the SVP of External Relations and senior development officers, engage board members in philanthropic development, provide board reports and communications as necessary, and represent ChildServe in industry associations and community groups.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as public administration, business administration, or healthcare administration.
  • Certification of Fundraising Executives (CFRE) designation or be willing to obtain.
  • Five years of professional fundraising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities or advancement.
  • Two years of foundation management experience, including operations and team development.
  • Experience leading development initiatives, achieving noteworthy results.
  • Proven track record in a competitive philanthropic community, including building relationships, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts.
  • Experience developing and implementing organizational strategy.
  • Strong planning, decision-making, project management, and meeting management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people to do great work and grow in their career.
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
