Assistant Director for the Holy Cross Fund

The position reports to the Director of Alumni and President’s Council. This position is responsible for the management and fundraising growth of the 10 most recent alumni classes, student phonathons, and the senior class gift/student philanthropy efforts. The Assistant Director will oversee reunion fundraising efforts the 5 and 10 Year Reunion Classes. Working with class-based and reunion volunteers, the Assistant Director will develop communication and segmentation strategies and tactics to meet both dollar and donor goals. Personal cultivation and solicitation of assigned prospects and high-level volunteers is required, with a travel goal of 50 face to face visits each year.
 
Major Areas of Responsibility
 
  • Plan and implement the fundraising efforts with a gift chair(s), manages the reunion classes.
  • Create a strategy to increase annual giving participation and grow leadership among young alumni.
  • Work with campus and department partners, as well as key alumni volunteers, to develop and implement a strategic business plan to engage and cultivate young alumni 
  • Serve as the coordinator for all aspects of the College’s phonathon program
  • Work closely with and train class volunteers, including class leadership and reunion gift committee members, to be successful in their work on behalf of the College.
  • Manages the coordination of communications with Class Chairs, solicitation mailings, volunteer meetings and other needs as necessary
  • Plan and implement a student philanthropy program to engage and educate members of the student body about the importance of giving back. Collaborate with student programs, such as the Student Government Association, to develop engagement strategies and opportunities
  • Ability and desire to travel 2-3 days per month to engage young alumni in conversations about their philanthropy
  • Cultivates, stewards and solicits young alumni by phone, through Zoom and in person.
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and have a strong sense of the mission of the College and the value of a liberal arts education.
  • Bring up to two years of Advancement or transferrable experience. Person should be goal and detail-oriented, able to work independently, with some evenings and weekends as required.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; possess the ability to inspire colleagues and motivate volunteers. Initiative, good judgement and sensitivity to confidential information required.
  • Should be able to meet people easily and work well with others and project a positive image of the College.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
