Job Summary:
This position's duties are assigned daily by the Production Supervisor. The Chili Cooker is responsible for preparation and setup of chili cookers, formula setup and dumping, batching off cooked materials, forklift operation; daily duties are assigned on daily basis by the production supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares product to be dumped.
Starts up of cookers.
Collects all tags and completes tags for each dump, following Tag Collection Procedure. Reclassification in JDE.
Sorts out all bad barrels.
Prepares clean, sound, good barrels to be filled with cooked material.
Perform agtron test on each batch of cook product to ensure surface color meets specification.
Works closely with shift supervisor, lead person, and Lab personnel using both the Agtron (for surface color reading) and visual standards (for grind and color consistency).
Perform moisture analysis on each batch of cook product to ensure the moisture is on target.
Reports all inconsistencies with color and/or grind to shift supervisor and/or lead person for resolution.
Fills barrels to proper weight (weight determined by operator).
Tags and/or marks each barrel produced.
Is responsible for knowing and following all methods and procedures for work area.
Maintains forms, logs, and paperwork associated with work area.
Is responsible to perform job reclassification in JDE
Maintains work areas in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Washes and sanitizes equipment as scheduled by Production Supervisor.
Includes operating a forklift in a safe manner and working safely around heavy forklift traffic.
Works closely with shift supervisor and/or lead person to ensure assigned duties are completed.
Follows all Company policies and procedures and maintains the facility at all times as set by the 5S program.
Prepare organic paperwork.
Input Machine hours in JDE.
Reclassification of all product produced.
Performs other duties as assigned by shift supervisor and/or lead person.
Education & Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred but not required.
Skills & Abilities:
Good proficiency in verbal and written communication in English.
Ability to complete simple math (+, -, x, ÷) computations.
A bility to read, understand, and set up production formulas.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and other functional areas.
Ability to safely operate a forklift .

Working Environment/Physical Demands:
Extreme temperatures ranging from 35 to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noises, airborne food particles (dust) and forklift fumes, it is need to lift 50 – 100 lbs. Safely roll drums up to 315 lbs.
The salary range for this position is $23.71 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, and labor markets.
