Product Strategy Senior Advisor

This is a temporary contract opportunity with The Cigna Group through Magnit, an enterprise third-party vendor for contingent work.Role Overview: Product Strategy Senior AdvisorAs a Mid-Level Taxonomist/Ontologist, you will play a pivotal role in organizing and categorizing our data, enhancing our information retrieval processes, and improving the overall data management ecosystem. Your expertise in taxonomy development, ontology design and knowledge graph integration will be essential in ensuring that our organization can leverage data effectively for decision-making and innovation.Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Taxonomy Development:• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Evernorth to understand data sources, business needs, and information hierarchies• Develop and maintain comprehensive taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and classification schemes in PoolParty• Continuously refine taxonomies to ensure data consistency and relevance• Work with stakeholders to develop metadata models that can be integrated into a content management system, such as ContentfulOntology Design:• Create, extend and manage ontologies that represent domain-specific knowledge and relationships between concepts and entities within PoolParty• Implement ontology models to enhance data integration and semantic understanding across multiple information systems, such as content management and customer data platformsKnowledge Graph Development:• Contribute to the development and maintenance of knowledge graphs to capture complex relationships between data entities• Explore new ways to leverage knowledge graphs for insights and decision supportData Curation:• Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to curate and annotate data using established taxonomies and ontologies• Assist in data cleansing, normalization, and quality assurance effortsInformation Retrieval:• Improve search and retrieval mechanisms by enhancing metadata tagging and optimizing search algorithms within the PoolParty vocabulary management system• Work with search team technologists to develop and implement search filters and facets to improve user navigation across multiple information systemsDocumentation:• Create and maintain documentation for taxonomies, ontologies, and data management governance processes.• Provide training and guidance to team members on taxonomy-related mattersCollaboration and Communication:• Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to understand their data needs and ensure alignment with taxonomies and ontologies• Communicate taxonomy and ontology concepts and benefits to non-technical stakeholders effectivelyQuality Assurance:• Ensure data quality and consistency by conducting regular audits and validation of taxonomies and ontologies• Implement best practices for taxonomy governance and standards adherenceRequirements:• 7+ years of experience in taxonomy development, ontology design, and knowledge management integration• 3+ years' experience using PoolParty or similar taxonomy management tools and ontology modeling languages (e.g., SKOS, OWL)• 2+ years working in healthcare, with specific work in healthcare content management and vocabulary development• Familiarity with data management, information retrieval, and data integration concepts• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Excellent communication and collaboration skills• Attention to detail and a passion for data organizationEducation:• Master's degree in Information Science, Library Science or LinguisticsLocation:• This is a fully remote role open to candidates across the US, W2• PST Time ZoneHourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $45-$61/hrBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met)
