GAJob Type: ContractAbout the Role:We are looking for an Application Engineer with a strong foundation in accounting to join our dynamic team. This role requires a unique blend of technical skills and accounting expertise to design, develop, and maintain financial software solutions. You will collaborate closely with both the engineering and accounting teams to ensure the seamless integration of technology and accounting processes.Key Responsibilities:• Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain applications that automate and streamline accounting functions such as bookkeeping, payroll, invoicing, and financial reporting.• Integration Management: Collaborate on integrating accounting software with third-party platforms, such as CRMs, ERPs, and other business applications.• Financial System Optimization: Optimize existing financial applications for better performance, scalability, and user experience.• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support for financial applications, troubleshooting any issues that arise and implementing timely solutions.• Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting department to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.• Data Management: Ensure accurate data mapping, migration, and synchronization between different financial systems.• Testing & Deployment: Participate in the testing and deployment of financial software applications, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for the development, deployment, and use of accounting applications.• Compliance & Security: Ensure that financial applications comply with industry standards and regulations, especially regarding data security and privacy.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, or a related field.• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in application development (Python, Java, .NET, etc.).• Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience with financial processes such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.• Experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc.).• Proficiency in SQL and working with databases (MySQL, Oracle, etc.).• Familiarity with financial reporting and analytics tools.• Knowledge of API development and integration.Preferred Qualifications:• CPA or a similar accounting qualification is a plus.• Experience with ERP systems and their integration with accounting tools.• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and SaaS-based financial applications.• Experience in Agile development environments.• Strong understanding of accounting compliance standards such as GAAP and IFRS.
