The Vice President of Expansion Sales will play a crucial role in shaping and executing CivicPlus’ expansion sales strategy to drive growth and deepen customer relationships. This senior leadership role is responsible for leading the Expansion Sales team, overseeing account growth, and expanding existing client engagements. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in strategic sales, specifically within complex software sales environments, and will bring a high level of leadership experience in account expansion and pipeline management. This position will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and Customer Success.
Your Impact:
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and lead the expansion sales strategy, focusing on driving growth through upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Team Development & Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Expansion Sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Revenue Growth: Meet and exceed revenue targets by identifying and capitalizing on expansion opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders in existing accounts, and understanding their needs and goals.
- Pipeline & Forecasting: Establish and maintain effective pipeline management processes, ensuring consistent forecasting and tracking of growth metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless execution of expansion strategies and alignment on customer needs.
- Customer Relationships: Act as a trusted advisor to our clients, positioning CivicPlus as a key partner in their digital transformation initiatives and helping them maximize the value of our solutions.
There is no perfect candidate, but we are looking for:
- Experience: 10+ years of strategic sales experience, with a focus on complex software sales, ideally in the public sector or government technology industry.
- Sales Leadership: 10+ years of experience in a sales leadership role with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Account Expansion: Demonstrated experience in account expansion selling, successfully driving growth within existing customer accounts.
- Pipeline Management: Expertise in pipeline management, including forecasting and tracking sales metrics to ensure alignment with growth targets.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Estimated Salary Range: $135,900- $209,300 annually. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and is based on a 40-hour work week.
