Claims Advocate

The Claims Advocate administers information from clients to process insurance claims; works with clients, adjusters, and Producers on claims status, problems, and questions. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing claims, collaborating with clients, and assisting with problem solving in conjunction with Director of Claims and Producers.

What You'll Do:

• Reports claims for clients and works directly with both insureds and claimants to identify new claims.
• Collaborates with clients to ensure accuracy and completeness of claim forms
• Follows up on claim acknowledgements and adjuster assignments for large claims as appropriate.
• Monitors claims activities and results, facilitating the resolution of claims, as needed
• Provides status reports to clients and ensures internal clients are well informed on large or complex claims, as appropriate
• Functions as liaison between clients and insurance carriers and/or TPAs, advocating for the best outcome for the client with thorough knowledge of coverage and claim issues while respecting insurance carrier
• Responds to client questions and concerns on first-party and third-party claims
• Assists clients with coverage questions to provide best possible claim outcomes for clients
• Educates clients on the claim process for various losses
• Prepares claims information for presentations, as requested
• Resolves customer claim issues in coordination with Director of Claims and producers to reduce E&O exposure
• Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders that may include clients, safety specialists, and producers
• Coordinates and participates in regular claim reviews with the key clients and the insurance carrier/TPA, as requested and allowed
• Performs special projects as identified by Director of Claims
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree and 4-8 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Multi-lines and/or specialty lines experience a plus
• Experience working for insurance broker or agency a plus
• Must meet any local or state license/designation requirements
• Tech savvy; ability to use and learn advanced technology and agency management systems
• Strong competency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook and intermediate Excel
• Strong organization and communication skills
