What will your essential responsibilities include?

Line leadership of Claim Specialists directing high-value liability claims handled by third-party administrators (“TPAs”) filed throughout the United States for our US Risk Management, Construction, Mid-Market, Programs, and other underwriting teams.

Approval of coverage letters or coordination of complex coverage referrals to Claim Legal and outside coverage counsel.

Resolution of compliance-related issues with TPAs, Claim Management, and our Compliance Department.

Direction of TPAs in accordance with AXA XL best practices in the major phases of claim handling including coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, recovery, and resolution. Evaluation and provision of reserve and settlement authority within AXA XL parameters.
- Delivery of superior customer service to policyholders and brokers, ensuring the same high customer service standards are upheld internally and by TPAs.

Collaboration with internal claim resources such as regional practice leaders and Claim Legal to ensure optimal outcomes and mitigation of claim expense. Collaboration with others, as appropriate, on claim management and strategy to deliver optimal outcomes and ensure, to the extent possible, that we are aligned on our evaluation of the exposure and strategy to resolve it.

Coordination with Claim Account Management to communicate claim issues and results, support the TPA audit process, and collaborate on technical and service issues relating to the TPA performance and our policyholders.

Identification and presentation of claim results, trend information, and lessons learned to internal and external stakeholders- actuaries, auditors, brokers, credit risk, customers, outward reinsurers, credit risk, and underwriters.

Recommendation of additional metrics to support team and departmental goals.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Advanced skills in the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of high value/complex automobile and general liability claims.

Defined expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving coverage and compliance issues.

Multi-jurisdictional (U.S.) experience.

Significant experience managing claims in an unbundled insurance model.

Demonstrated leadership through courage and ability to influence actions of internal and external relationships. Coaches, sets expectations, evaluates, and holds people accountable for delivering.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Advanced organizational and time management skills.

Ability to think strategically and own continuous improvement of processes to maximize claim outcomes and manage the performance of external trading partners.

The base salary range for this position is (115,000 – 227,000). Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
