We are currently seeking a Sr. Claims Specialist based in the Alpharetta, GA office.

Your Team
You will be working with a small but diverse team of claims professionals of various experience levels and backgrounds, in a collegial and supportive atmosphere that values individual strengths and also encourages professional development and participation in industry leadership.

The Impact You Will Have
Proactively investigate, negotiate, and resolve high exposure Excess and Umbrella claims, in accordance with established best practices and assure claims are handled within granted autonomy limits. You will also develop and maintain relationships with customers and brokers as well as internal business partners

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
  • Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems
  • Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Independent Adjusters, Experts).
  • Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels
  • Negotiate and resolve high exposure, complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions
  • Support training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff
  • Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines
  • Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate
  • Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters
  • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)

Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years experience in proven track record in handling Excess and Umbrella claims involving complex coverage and damage issues
  • Demonstrate established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market
  • Have an expert understanding of Line of Business products and portfolio, with expert understanding of coverage and application in the adjustment process
  • In-depth understanding of regional / local Line of Business insurance markets and competitor landscape
  • Detailed understanding of legal and regulatory framework
  • Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

This opportunity can be based in any of our local offices or remote for those that do not live close to an office.

The annual base salary range base pay range for this role is $98,318 to $167,091. The annualized represents a North American market range. The actual salary for this position may be above or below and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
