Who We Are
Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider for 35 communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the 4th largest electricity provider in the State of California. We provide clean renewable energy at competitive rates to over three million residents and businesses through approximately one million customer accounts.
What You’ll Do
CPA is seeking two graduate level or post-graduate interns to work on two public policy research projects to help inform CPA’s public policy advocacy strategies. These projects would be ideal for candidates who are looking to gain experience in energy and sustainability fields. The topics covered by the two research projects are:
CPA internships are typically for a length of 12 consecutive weeks, up to 25 hours/week (no term is guaranteed).
Who You’ll Work With
The Regulatory Affairs Interns report to the Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs. You will work closely with the Regulatory Affairs team, and have some interactions with the Government Affairs team.

Work Location
Residing a commutable distance from CPA’s offices is required for this position. This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires up to 2 assigned days in the Downtown Los Angeles office. The Remote option requires you to be available to commute to CPA offices if needed.
Graduate & Post-Graduate Internship compensation ranges from $25.00-$35.00/hour, with exact compensation to be determined by Clean Power Alliance, dependent on skills and experience. This is a part-time/temporary position. Interns are only eligible for mandated benefits, such as sick pay, workers’ compensation, and Medicare contributions.
