Purpose/Introduction

We are currently seeking Terminal Engineer to join our team at our Sweeny, Clemens, and Old Ocean location. Under the direction of the Unit Superintendent, the Terminal Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting analysis to ensure the unit runs safely and efficiently. They should drive The Tenets of Operation in their daily activities. This position will be driving daily plant optimization and longer-term projects. The successful candidate needs to exhibit strong safety leadership, initiative, teamwork, excellent communication skills, assertive decision-making, self-starter orientation, and a dedication to plant optimization. The Terminal Engineer will work with the unit operators, engineering, leadership team, and all other departments to ensure all safety, environmental, production, and cost goals are met.


Responsibilities

  • Assists in addressing all safety and environmental issues
  • Facilitates incident investigations
  • Provides operations assistance for support group efforts
  • Participates in unit audits and resolves findings
  • Troubleshoots operating problems
  • Prepares Environmental Emissions calculations and reports
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly reports
  • Optimizes operations to reduce emissions
  • Functions as a team representative on project planning and scheduling
  • Supports scheduling activities like deliveries, project implementation, and tankage movements
  • Prepares operating instructions, operator training, night orders, and communications
  • Participates in maintenance scheduling and outage planning
  • Ensures NOC's and MOC's are accurate and well-communicated
  • Ensures high-quality products are produced
  • Monitors and adjusts process operating conditions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work to ensure goal alignment
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Promotes safety, environmental, and operational excellence improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fluid dynamics modeling
