HOURS: Full Time, 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday with flex hours. Some evening, weekend and holiday work will be required to assist with after-hour activities, meet program goals and/or assist with client needs/schedules. Travel Required
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:
Primarily responsible for working in conjunction with agency staff to coordinate and provide support services to clients; client transportation; and to manage client donations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supportive Services
  • Answer crisis calls and follow the established procedures for crisis intervention, intakes, safety planning and referrals.
  • Give crisis support in a calm and professional manner.
  • Works with staff to assist with and provide client services to meeting daily needs of family.
  • Assists with monitoring client activities and shelter operations.
  • Assists clients with various tasks: copying documents, completion of applications, etc.
  • Distributes weekly supplies to clients (personal hygiene, clothing, etc.)
  • Coordinates and provides transportation for emergency shelter and housing program clients.
  • Assists with providing childcare during on-site group sessions for adults.
  • Assists with shopping for clients and program supplies.
  • Ensures that supplies are stocked and maintained appropriately in designated areas; areas are maintained in a clean and orderly manner; supplies are sorted and purged accordingly.
  • Coordinates and plans special events for adult clients.
  • Assists with tasks in absence of Nutritionist.
  • Reports any special or urgent client needs to the Program Coordinator.
Client Donation Management
  • Sorts and Distributes donations to clients.
  • Accepts and documents receipt of donations per established procedures.
  • Ensures donor information is obtained and forwarded to the Administrative Assistant
  • If reasonable, assist with pickup and delivery of donations to shelter facility or Thrift Store
Agency Compliance
  • Refers to and complies with the CCI Policy and Procedural Manuals in every part of their job.
  • Complies and adheres to assigned work schedule.
  • Attends individual supervision, staff meetings, staff trainings and other meetings required by agency, funding sources and/or professional standards.
  • Enter all client activity/services daily into the agency client database.
  • Maintains all required documents in a current and orderly manner.
  • Submits all required agency and grant programs statistical and narrative reports accurately and in a timely manner per the prescribed due dates.
  • Adheres to the agency’s confidentiality policies, maintaining a high-level standard of confidentiality.
  • Maintains a valid driver license, proof of required automobile insurance, and Child Protection requirements per agency policy.
  • Represents the agency at community and funder events/functions as assigned.
  • Always be alert to the physical and mental condition of clients and children and report any suspicious situations to the Program Manager and/or Associate Director.
  • Ability to work within agency mission, philosophy and policies/procedures.
  • Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all person with dignity and respect.
  • Performs other duties assigned and deemed necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the agency.
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
High School diploma or GED and have at least five (5) years of work experience. Must have good communication skills to work with individuals in crisis situations. Knowledge of general office operation procedures, answering telephones and use of office equipment.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must possess skills to be empathetic, nonjudgmental, supportive, respectful, and empowering in working with victims of interpersonal violence.
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately respond to crisis situations.
  • Ability to effectively present agency services and programs to the general public.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with agency programs and organizations outside the agency.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet stringent deadlines.
Licenses/Certifications:

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Normal range of vision and hearing, with or without correction.
  • Manual dexterity and motor skills are required to use the computer.
  • Must demonstrate maturity and the ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Must be able to meet critical deadlines.
  • Must be able to organize, process, and report information.
  • Must be emotionally stable, alert, and able to work alone.
  • Must be physically and emotionally capable of performing the essential functions of the job.
  • Must continue to achieve satisfactory rating on the annual performance evaluation.
  • Must be able to work under strict time constraints.
