The Climate Grants Coordinator will be a key member of our Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota Chapter’s Climate Team and will work on an initiative called Minnesota Million (MM) - a vision to reforest large swaths of Minnesota (one million acres) through collaboration with a broad and inclusive group of coalition partners. This initiative is wide reaching and includes a dedicated effort to increase and improve the quality of tree seeds and seedlings available in Minnesota. The Coordinator will be supervised by the Reforestation Strategy Manager, but will coordinate across internal teams and a diverse group of coalition partners.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Managing the administration of a four-year grant to build a Climate Smart Seedling Production Network.
• Grant reporting, project updates, financial tracking, contracts, and timelines.
• Supporting grant sub-award recipients and contractors, and build relationships with these partners.
• Participating as the project representative in the USDA Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Learning Network (Partnerships Network.)

This position will be grant funded for 4 years, but our aim is to continue this position beyond that, pending future funding.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two to three years of relevant experience and bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience administering grant funds for projects, especially government grants, including experience with reporting, financial tracking, and project updates.
• Experience building and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and a variety of partners.
• Ability to complete tasks independently with respect to timeline(s.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
• Project management expertise and attention to detail and deadlines.

Preferred, but not required

• Working knowledge and/or interest in forest industry, forest ecology, nursery industry, or similar.
• Experience building trusting relationships as a liaison between organizations and marginalized or underrepresented communities.

• Base Salary: $54,000- $57,000 dependent on location and experience

The hiring range for this role is $54,000- $57,000 dependent on location and experience.
