We are looking for a technical member of our product management team member to help conceive, formulate and specify product features of our cloud data warehouse. To be a great fit for working here, you'll have been through the full lifecycle of rolling out SaaS products and have a technically deep understanding of cloud services, especially databases and networking. You have a strong passion for usability, love talking to customers, sharing our roadmap, getting their feedback and writing technical specifications, as well as helping out marketing and sales.
To be our candidate, you've got an engineering or product background, coming from the world of software development. Perhaps you're well on your way to a career in Product Management, or you've been a successful development lead or architect and love the outbound, communication or feature definition aspects of the job. You'll need to be a clear communicator with great business acumen, have a working knowledge of databases and SQL, and have a fast moving, "get stuff done" attitude.
Responsibility:
Own key elements of Yellowbrick's product portfolio, strategy, roadmap and backlog
Create user stories with well-defined requirements and acceptance criteria
Be the 'voice of the customer' for the engineering team, and a key focal point in day-to-day technical development, execution quality and performance
Drive product requirements to satisfy customer needs, market opportunity and company strategic objectives
Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, customer support and documentation to make sure all needs of the organisation are addressed
Brief prospects, customers, analysts, 3rd party influencers and partners on the vision and strategy for Yellowbrick's product offerings
Work Environment:
This position is a fully remote, or hybrid role (Mountain View, CA), and is based in USA. The successful candidate will:
Be able to prioritize the requirements in the context of the entire portfolio, thinking and acting like the customer
Work well in a fast-paced, iterative, start-up environment
Have experience with developing user stories, functional requirements, and specifications
Have exceptional ability to impact and influence business results where cross group collaboration is required
Be willing to travel 10 to 20% of the time to visit customers, partners, conferences etc
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in computer science or related technical field
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
'Outside-in' viewpoint, fully aware of the competitive set and industry trends, and how to reconcile with company strategy
Have product/program management experience in public cloud and software-as-a-service delivery
Have a good understanding of existing and emerging public cloud trends
Highly desirable:
Track record of taking a cloud product from conception and definition through to implementation, and launching it to market
Hands-on experience with cloud SQL databases and analytics
Hands-on experience building and delivering services or products built on one or more cloud platforms; AWS, Azure and GCP as a software engineer, architect, or technical product manager
Excellent understanding of the enterprise data warehousing, enterprise data management, and analytics market
