Cloud System Architect (Fully Remote)

General Summary

Conducts highly specialized activities regarding the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Cloud application and/or infrastructure.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

• Conceptualizes, models, and guides the logical design and development of Cloud systems
  architectures, and defines key systems capabilities and performance requirements.
• Defines total Cloud systems design, technology, and interface operational concepts.
• May act as a technical project leader for Cloud Projects.
• Designs and develops Cloud system architectures and defines key capabilities and performance requirements.
• Defines total Cloud systems design and technology maturity constraints in accordance with mission requirements.
• Develops Cloud system element architecture and design and interface definitions.
• Defines Cloud system implementation approach and operational concept.
• Develops Cloud models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
• Provide a Cloud architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts.
• Understand user and Cloud process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables.
• Work closely with Cloud developers and engineers to develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure.
• Understand the interactions between Cloud systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.
• Analyze Cloud systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years’ related experience
• Requires Secret security clearance
• Security + CE certification or higher required
• Azure or AWS certification (higher than Foundation)
• Position may require periodic travel to Huntsville, AL to support mission requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and Experience with cARMY
• Experience with AMC, Army or DoD
• Experience with cloud native capabilities, knowledge of cloud containers, Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipeline
