POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Learning and Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in the mortgage industry, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs. This position requires adeptness in both instructor-led and eLearning formats, with a focus on company procedures, products, and platforms. Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) is essential for effective course deployment and tracking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain blended curriculum and supporting documentation, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure clarity and relevance.
- Lead the development of document structures, preparing various documents independently, and engaging in proactive problem-solving with internal stakeholders.
- Design and implement eLearning courses using authoring tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Deliver training sessions through face-to-face and virtual webinars.
- Facilitate the new-hire training for new employees and provide ongoing education for existing staff members.
- Consult with internal clients to discern training needs and design tailored solutions.
- Some travel, both local and national, may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in presentation skills, written communication, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in developing and delivering technical training.
- Must have 2+ years in mortgage-related fields such as Mortgage Training, Loan Origination, Processing, Underwriting, or Closing.
- Strong writing skills, including grammar proficiency and the ability to explain technical concepts in layman’s terms.
- Demonstrated public speaking skills and comfort with presenting to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning authoring tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
This role operates in a standard office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial sitting and walking throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.
CMG pays a competitive base which ranges from $75,000 - $85,000. Factors that affect base salary may include: Learning and Development experience, training experience, overall knowledge of mortgage industry, number of years worked in mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience specific to working with mortgage lenders, and education.
