Job DescriptionThe Building Brains Anywhere Program Supervisor is responsible for developing, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the day-to-day operations of afterschool educational programming to provide safe places for children and youth through enrichment and child/youth development. This position is critically important as it seeks to ensure that every child in Gwinnett has the opportunity to become an educated and productive citizen.Essential Duties• Providing leadership, coordination, and participation in the development and evaluation of programming that encourages the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with research on out of school time enrichment, child growth and development• Providing in-service training for afterschool education providers, team members, teachers, and parents• Working with educational partners to ensure that curriculum and programming are aligned with appropriate national, state, and local learning standards• Supervising staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained, ensuring the employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations• Developing, overseeing, and scheduling the daily activities of afterschool related programs and events and instructing courses when necessary• Processing registration and payments• Completing various forms and reports regarding program objectives, evaluation, and financial status• Ensuring the safety of program participants and facility operations• Coordinating activities with internal and external departments to determine program needs, program objectives, and marketing needs• Assisting in the developing and implementing program marketing objectives• Keeping up to date with developments in educational research and practice, specifically pertaining to early learningPublic Speaking Duties• Communicating with children and parents/caregivers in a public setting• Delivering presentations to and communicating with internal and external partners (including Gwinnett County Public Schools)Other Job Requirements/Information• This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.GradeThe grade for this position is B32(1).
