Serves as a student worker.The Student Assistant serves as a member of the IISS team, which includes professional and other student assistants.Contact Information: Debbie King, 843-349-2910, dking4@coastal.edu The responsibilities/expectations of the position are:• Provide quality service to all individuals, including employees, students, and guests• Serve as a frontline resource and one of the faces of IISS office (e.g. greet visitors, assist with program registration, and answer questions about the department).• Answer phones and email, as well as assist with copying, filing, mail, and data entry• Provide support and assist in the marketing, logistics, and delivery of IISS programs• Assist with the marketing on the IISS social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)• Assist with IISS presentations for other departments and community members as needed (e.g.,• Assist and/or lead special projects for the department (e.g., plan an event, conduct research, assist with data compilation for assessment, and work on individual/specific projects).• Attend IISS Student Staff meetings if deemed necessary.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Skills required for the position:• Must be an active CCU student• Professionalism in the office and while representing the department outside of the office• Initiative and self-motivated• Strong work ethic, dedication, and positive attitude• Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual• Ability to work well in groups and teams• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)• Presentation skills• Maintenance of good academic standing and good judicial standing at the time of application and throughout employment• Primary availability to work an average of 10-15 hours per week during department office hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm, and flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends as required throughout the academic year (August-mid May).Qualifications and Skills preferred for the position:• Creativity• Campus involvement, leadership experience• Attendance of IISS programs• Availability to work during the summer months (mid May- August)
