Legal Engineer

We are on the lookout for a proactive and tech-savvy Legal Engineer to join our innovative Legal Tech Team. This role serves as a linchpin in amalgamating legal processes with cutting-edge technology, aiming to streamline our service delivery. The successful candidate will dive into process improvement projects, translate legal processes  into technical workflows, and work hand-in-hand with legal experts to implement and fine-tune legal tech solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a bridge between legal operations and technology.
  • Grasp client and internal needs thoroughly, and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with legal professionals, ensuring a frictionless implementation and optimisation of legal tech solutions.
  • Participate in the evaluation, customisation, and deployment of legal software tools and platforms to match our standards and client expectations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging legal tech trends and tools, continuously learning and adapting to propose innovative solutions that keep us and our clients at the cutting-edge of legal technological advancements.
  • Degree in Commerce, Law or Computer Science, preferably Law.
  • A minimum of two years Power Platforms experience, specifically:
    • Power Apps,
    • SharePoint,
    • PowerBI, and
    • Dataverse.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications related to Power Apps and/or App design such as the PL-600.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective liaison between legal and technical teams.
  • Adeptness in data analysis, understanding workflows, and recommending process enhancements.
  • A willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new legal tech trends and tools.

Preferable Skills

  • Basic grasp of legal principles, processes, and terminologies, enabling effective communication with legal professionals and understanding client needs.
  • While not mandatory, coding skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with popular legal tech platforms and tools such as contract analysis software, e-discovery platforms, or legal research tools.
