Sr Full Stack Java Developer

We take an Experience centered approach which uses human insights to take ideas from vision to outcome and building end to end experience led solutions that enables brands to transform their customer and employee experiences using design, marketing, and commerce capabilities.Job Location: Ford Dearborn MI / Irving CA or RemoteDay-to-Day Responsibilities• As a Sr full Stack Java Developer, you will be part of a team of like-minded engineers who utilize pair-programming, test-driven development, and CI/CD to continuously ship code to production.• You’ll primarily work in a tech stack of React, Java + Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform + Tekton.• We leverage a variety of collaborative tools like Slack, IntelliJ, VS Code, and Figma to work together as a team.• Pair Programming. Work collaboratively with another engineer as you write code together. Be comfortable communicating your thought process out loud. Be a good listener as you respect the ideas of your pair partner.• Test-Driven Development. Utilize a test-first approach to writing code. Be thoughtful of edge cases as you write tests with the aim of creating a resilient codebase.• Clean Code. Follow a red-green-refactor rhythm to development with an eye towards writing maintainable code. Think of how your code will impact the next person to work on it.• Continuous Delivery. Every commit goes to production. Feature flags control what customers see. Small incremental commits help ensure a quality experience to customers.• Support the team. Provide technical guidance to help your product team assess and prioritize opportunities and constraints.Key Qualifications• 5+ years of experience with:• Core Java, Spring boot, React.js• Modern databases (Relational and non-relational)• Continuous integration/continuous delivery tools and pipelines, such as: (Jenkins, Terraform, SonarQube, Maven, Gradle, Harness, Apigee X)• 1+ years of experience developing and deploying to cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and Microsoft Azure Experience with Unit testing.• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design Principles• Familiar with eXtreme Programming (XP) practices including Pair/Mob programming and Test-first/Test Driven Development (TDD)• Experience with developing and deploying to cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure• Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and RESTFUL Web services development• Experience with machine learning, mathematical modelling and data analysis is a plus• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases• Experience with CA Agile Central (Rally), backlogs, iterations, user stories, or similar Agile Tools Highly effective in working with other technical specialists, Product Managers, UI/UX Designers and business partners• Passion for learning and willingness to work in a pair programming environment• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Strong oral and written communication skills• Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills• Ability to work independently and take initiative when solving unexpected problems• Understanding of fundamental data modelling• Experience in development of microservicesWhy Choose Cognizant?It takes a lot to succeed in today’s fast-paced market, and Cognizant Technology Solutions has become a leader in the industry.
