Position DescriptionCold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), is seeking a Grants Administrator with 1-3 years of grant-related experience to join the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). The office actively promotes the research and education mission of CSHL by facilitating and managing sponsored research funding in collaboration with CSHL Investigators, the Director of Research, and other CSHL departments.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Grants Administrator will: provide consultation to Principal Investigators and CSHL administrators regarding their research awards, budgets, progress reports, and expenses; oversee grant set-up in CSHL’s accounting system including budgeting, personnel distribution, indirect cost links, and delegations of authority; ensure allocation of personnel for new awards in consultation with faculty; prepare Progress Reports, Prior Approval requests, Other Support and Just-in-Time documentation; coordinate grant transfers, train new scientific administrators; and support the OSP Executive Director in ensuring that CSHL grants management award processes, practices and compliance requirements are appropriately followed and enhanced as needed.Position Requirements1-3 years of relevant experience in a sponsored research/grants management environment. A Bachelor’s degree in either business, finance, accounting or biology is required; an advanced degree is a plus. Excellent organizational, analytical, collaborative and consultative skills are required. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential.
