Collections Supervisor

The Team

We are seeking a Collections Supervisor join American Tower’s Accounts Receivable team within the Finance Organization. The Accounts Receivables team reconciles and reduces receivable balances. Day to day you will focus on managing a team tasked with collecting and reconciling receivable balances. As a Collections Supervisor you will partner cross-functionally to align team and department goals and build strong relationships with external customers to improve remittance and assist team in reaching quarterly goals.

What You Need To Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years collections or account reconciliation experience in an AR environment required.
• Process improvement and Oracle Financials AR experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Approximately 15% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities
• Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for self and team to meet requirements and deadlines.
• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
• Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results.

What You Can Offer Us

• Oversee team of Collections Analysts, identify and monitor risky customer balances and help drive resolution through defaulting or other appropriate action.
• Together with management, analyze aging reports to set priorities, identify reduction opportunities, create collection strategies, and develop weekly and monthly forecast reports.
• Build strong relationships with customers through regular communication and site visits to identify opportunities for improvement and support client specific initiatives.
• Maintain system of record for collection notes, follow up action codes and call history.
• Review unallocated cash reports with staff and work to improve procedures to minimize new unallocated cash.
• Monitor lease payments in system to ensure adherence to procedures and provide remittance information to customers.
• Deliver timely and accurate reporting to senior management for month end balances, new business balances, and required weekly collection status.
• Provide up-to-date training plans and documentation for collection of receivables and cash applications.
• As a Collections Supervisor you are responsible for the recruitment, performance management and career development of Collections Analysts. You’ll also be expected to cultivate a collaborative team dynamic that enables us to meet our business objectives.
