As the Commercial Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - Grid Solutions, you will play a meaningful part in the energy transition, helping our customers to achieve maximum value from their software investments.
Roles and Responsibilities

C-Suite advisor to the largest utilities in the Americas, reporting directly to the Vice President Americas Sales at GE Digital Grid Solutions

A trusted technical advisor on the Commercial Sales Team. Aligns capabilities to specific outcomes, creates reference architectures, and calculates potential solution value.

Developing specialized knowledge of latest commercial developments in own area and communication skills to influence others. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
-
BS or BA Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
-
10+ years in a Sales/Business Development/Consultant role with technology expertise
-
7+ years of experience in electrical / utility industry sales or product business team role
-
Experience driving results in complex, competitive customer engagements.

Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time
Desired Characteristics

Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a general manager’s perspective

Experience leading and/or direct involvement in large-scale transformation programs; Ideally designed and deployed lean and digital transformations for global organizations

Strong background in industrial environments, experience in industrial business process and building of analytics/applications for industries such as power, renewables, aviation and healthcare is highly desired

Possess the technical skills in business strategy development, cloud integration necessary to be credible; must have significant practitioner experience in lean and digital transformation

Excellent time and project management skills needed

Should possess great communication skills and should have worked with global teams. Solid executive presence, with proven ability to interact with senior leadership team

Proven ability to bring order and structure to function and organization quickly; Strategic mindset with hands-on approach

Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment juggling and executing on multiple priorities.

Experience managing both direct and indirect reports; can hire and retain exceptional talent

Analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Ability to deal with ambiguity, strategic agility, manage diversity and drive for results.

Masters’ degree, MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $141,000 - $211,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a sales incentive compensation. Available benefits include Health, Medical, 401K, and Paid Leave.
