Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll Do• Responsible for purchases of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal from industrial accounts• Develops the growth of business activities and profit with assigned accounts and in assigned territories• Investigates new potential sources of consumers of scrap metal. Buys from retail, dealer, light industrial customers, repair shops, demolition projects, clean-ups, etc• Purchases scrap metal materials in accordance with current market conditions based on pricing standards/models established by Company policy• Owns internal and external customer service relating to ferrous or non-ferrous business• Visits customers on a regular basis and maintain systemic data to record account history• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations in order to purchase materials in compliance• Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills to ensure repeat business.• Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals• Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a deal, resulting in the taking of market share from competitors• Responsible for meeting or exceeding buying/sourcing quotas• Participates in a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, direct mail, email & networking• Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed• Maintains accurate records of all buying/sourcing and prospecting activities including closed sales and follow-up activities• Buys consultatively and recommends to prospects and clients various solutions the company offers to improve or resolve business issues.• Outcalls all potential suppliers that fall within the marketing strategy (bids & auctions).• Travel must be 4 days a week.What You'll Need• Contract negotiation experience preferred• Strong interpersonal skills required• Sense of teamwork as well as independent initiative required• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively• Proficient in MS Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint required.
