Commodity Handler

Loads and Unloads Product:

• Loads final product on to trucks and railcars in order to ensure timely delivery of all handled products
• Unloads grain trucks and railcars as needed in order to meet the plant’s daily production schedules
• Inspects material handling equipment and performs routine adjustments and minor maintenance as needed
• Reports any equipment issues to Shift Leaders in a timely fashion
• Ensures compliance with Company safety rules and wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities
• Ensures work area is kept clean and free from safety hazards which requires regular bending and occasional lifting
• Completes tasks as assigned by the plant Superintendents or Shift Leaders

Equipment Operation

• Operate front end loader and skid steer as needed to facilitate loading vehicles
• Operate locomotive to position rail cars and provide direction to locomotive operator
• Work safely in a rail yard, communicating moves, connecting cars and operating switch gear.

Communications, Teamwork, Training:

• Communicates in an open, cooperative and constructive manner in order to successfully resolve all identified issues
• Demonstrates teamwork skills by supporting and assisting others as needed or assigned; willingly accepts and shares miscellaneous tasks as assigned
• Actively participates in Shift/Team activities including complying with best practices, standard operating procedures, development and maintenance and continuous improvement efforts
• Actively participates in job-related training as required
