North American External Communications Manager

Location: US WIDE

Job Description:
As the North American External Communications Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our company's reputation as a thought leader and innovator in the IT industry. You will report directly to the Head of Marketing and Communications and work closely with the leadership team to develop and execute communications strategies that drive business objectives.

Your primary focus will be on public relations, journalist and editorial relations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute external communications strategies that align with business objectives
• Manage relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and industry influencers to secure coverage and establish the company as a thought leader in the IT industry
• Create and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other external communications materials
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and topics to proactively identify opportunities for thought leadership and storytelling
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information and develop content for external communications materials
• Manage the company's external communications calendar and ensure that all communications are consistent with brand guidelines
• Monitor and measure the effectiveness of external communications efforts and report on key metrics to the Head of Communications
• Interact with Agency and manage agency relations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
• 5-10 years of experience in external communications, with a focus on public relations, journalist and editorial relations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with the IT industry and related trends
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform communications strategies
• Experience with social media and digital communications platforms is a plus
