Job Description
The School of Plant and Environmental Sciences (SPES) in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Virginia Tech is seeking to fill an hourly wage (approximately 12 hours per week/3 days per week/ MWF) position located on-site in Blacksburg, Virginia. The incumbent will be providing general administrative support by providing intra-school communication (sending meeting, events and calendar invite reminders) and creating/sending a weekly newsletter via email, updating staff responsibilities, aiding the business office staff with key pickup/drop off, FedEx deliveries, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience providing administrative support in a professional setting; ability to receive directions and work independently; strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills; friendly and professional demeanor; motivated work ethic; working as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google; Knowledge of VT policies and procedures; experience working with listservs.
