At SCE Credit Union, we aim to empower our members and the community at large by providing accessible financial services, promoting financial literacy, and supporting local economic growth. As a Community Development Executive, you will play a vital role in achieving these goals.
The Community Development Executive (CDE) is responsible for engaging within the communities we serve by bringing financial education to adults and by actively representing SCE FCU through continual participation in community events. The CDE manages a Community Based Organization (CBO) portfolio and finds new opportunities to assist with promoting the overall goals of the Credit Union to deepen member relationships and increase our growth. The CDE contacts, visits, and engages existing SEGs to secure new accounts, loans, and educate employees on SCE FCU products and services while providing a high level of prompt, efficient, and friendly member service.
This position is located in the Southern Nevada (Las Vegas) area. A hybrid remote work option is available. You would be expected to periodically work from an office at our Sahara Branch location and build relationships with branch personnel and leadership.
Financial Capability
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with organizations (CBO’s, Civic Groups, Universities, and Select Employer Groups) to identify, plan, and execute Financial Education workshops that will meet SCE FCU’s strategic objectives.
Collaborate with marketing to effectively promote financial education, community development efforts, and campaigns.
Conducts presentations on SCE FCU’s products, services, and the Credit Union difference.
Effectively cross-sells SCE FCU products and services to the participants.
Interviews members to obtain information and determine their financial services needs.
Communicate with branches and departments to ensure heightened awareness of special events, community development and financial education outreach efforts.
Provide timely follow-up and follow-through with members, non-members, CBO groups, staff and public inquiries.
Community / Partner Support
Conduct financial education presentations throughout the community, designed to prepare members for all aspects of financial health.
Collaborates with community partners and internal Credit Union departments to suggest enhancements to, or new products and services
Works closely with a wide range of organizations both in the public and private sector and builds awareness of SCE FCU’s financial education program as well as the credit union’s products and services.
Create and deepen a portfolio of local relationships and community development organizations that position SCE FCU as an innovator in financial inclusion and community development.
Participates in community events held by CBO partners to helps strengthen the relationship.
Works with BDE to contact current decision makers at SEGs & partner community-based organizations to plan and coordinate financial education workshop for the employees.
Works with Elite representative or CBO contact to set up Classes (Date, Time, Location) for classes held at each SEG’s and partner community-based organizations.
Measurement and Reporting
Maintains, tracks and measure the success of his CBO relationships and collaboration outcomes.
Maintains logs for new and existing members, tracks and monitors results. Reports all weekly activities, including visits, classes, goals, and outcomes of all activities.
Track, analyze, and plan annual CBO involvement in collaboration with partner representatives and the Director of Community Advocacy
Produce reports on a monthly and quarterly basis recapping successes/challenges and results for financial literacy classes held at SEG’s and CBO’s
Tracks progress of Financial Education strategic goals for each branch location and communicates progress on goals with branch managers.

Education and/or Experience
Language Skills
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills desired.

In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with members, community partners, and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Qualifications
Must be able to travel 60% - 75% of the time locally in Southern Nevada.
