Position Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Director of HRIS & Compensation, the Compensation Analyst performs job evaluation, job description management, research, analysis, and reporting activities to support the University’s compensation program and total rewards strategy.
Essential Functions
- Maintains the salary architecture framework to support University’s compensation programs and total rewards.
- Provides guidance to hiring managers to develop and maintain up-to-date job descriptions that accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
- Maintains University’s job description database.
- Assesses jobs to determine classification and appropriate salary range using relevant market survey data and considering internal equity. Reviews and recommends salary placements for new hires.
- Participates in salary surveys, and analyzes data from survey sources to determine competitiveness both internally and externally.
- Carries out analytical assignments involving the development, implementation and administration of benefits and compensation programs.
- Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
Additional Functions:
- Conducts research and analysis related to University’s benefit programs, and for collective bargaining agreements.
- Assists in preparation of the annual merit increase and incentive programs and budgeting.
- Advises hiring managers and stakeholders on applicable federal, state, and local wage and compensation related regulations, University’s benefits and compensation policies, and compensations terms of collective bargain agreements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in employee compensation and classification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to compensation.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCP, SHRM-SCP/CP, or SPHR/PHR certification highly preferred.
Minimum Starting Salary: $85,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $110,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
