About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Compliance Officer to use their knowledge and skills to deliver informative and insightful assurance results. As part of the second line of defense, you will also perform reviews of the compliance framework for Swiss Re.



Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading and performing compliance testing and reviews
  • Identifying, analyzing and assessing compliance risks and evaluating the efficiency of existing controls
  • Evaluating timely resolution and effective remediation to address identified issues
  • Support and participation in ad-hoc risk reviews, reporting and special projects

About the Team



Compliance Assurance is a global team responsible for the monitoring of Compliance Risks across the Swiss Re Group. The team is the primary liaison with Group Internal Audit (GIA), Operational Risk Management (ORM) and other governance functions and assists in coordination among risk and control functions and Compliance units in relation to Compliance Assurance activities.


About You



Are you curious, detail-oriented and a self-starter with strong communication and analytical skills who can liaise with colleagues across markets and functional units? If so, and you thrive on being flexible and adaptable to dynamic, changing work processes and environment then this role may be for you!



Required skills and experience:


  • University or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years of experience in compliance advisory, compliance testing or other risk control functions in the financial services industry, preferably in (re)insurance industry,
  • Deep understanding of testing/ audit methodologies and techniques, risk management concepts
  • Strong English verbal and written skills


Desired skills include:


  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity using data and technology to enhance efficiency of monitoring and other tasks

For Armonk, NY the estimated base salary range for this position is $116,000 to $174,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
