Data Backup Technician

Description

This role will be responsible for the execution of data backup  in alignment and with customer  expectations of requirements, quality and efficiency.  

• Intake inbound and outbound assets of approximately 200 per work week through applicable systems 
• Plan, deploy and administer the backup system hardware and software
• Keep an organized space as required for successful sorting and distribution of machines/devices
• Produce data backup volumes of eighteen (18) per day
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40lbs on a daily basis

• Communicate with customer point of contacts through provided portals for support and troubleshooting
• Execute cycle counts and investigates the outcomes of those counts
• Investigate device credentials to configure backup software
• Address the firmware issues and capture the SID protected folders
• Work in collaboration with other team members to identify security issues related to company data
• Troubleshoot computer hardware issues and facilitate the maintenance on desktops and laptops
• Verify all full backup jobs
• Maintain an audit trail of configurations, backups and restore tasks
• Perform problem management and incident correlation on recurring issues
• Be an escalation point to the Technical Services Lead on all backup issues
• Perform other duties as needed and requested

• Reliable, professional, comfortable with written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
• Netsuite or applicable SaaS experience is a plus
• Experience with device repairs and/or data backups
• Shipping and Receiving experience
• Experience with Code42, OS (MacOS, Windows, Linux), Disk Utility/Disk Management, OS Updates, Script Files is a plus
