Description:
- Monitors and manages clinical resource consumption; ensures clinical documentation is accurate; provides continuity of care and review of documentation to optimize cost efficient resource utilization and maximum reimbursement .
Responsibilities:
- Light lifting, 20 lbs. maximum and usually involving walking or standing to significant degrees.
- Telephone usage involving receiving and giving information to patients and/or their families, the public or hospital staff.
- Regular communication through use of technical equipment as in public paging, use of computers, etc.
- Able to communicate effectively, demonstrating good audio and visual acuity. Demonstrated ability to work with all age groups of patients (birth to geriatric) .
- Reports to Director of HIM department and CDI manager.
- Performs independently within established policy with minimal supervision.
- Consults as needed with the Director and/or Coding Manager especially in cases requiring policy and/or procedural decisions.
What you will need:
- At least three years acute care experience required .
- Utilization/Quality Management, Discharge Planning and/or Clinical Documentation enhancement experience preferred .
- RN required. MD license (active or inactive status)may be accepted in lieu of an RN license.
- Master’s Degree preferred. Licensed by the State of Maryland.
- Highly articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills .
- Computer literacy and analytic skills required.
- Able to communicate effectively, demonstrating good audio and visual acuity.
