Overview:As an essential member of the workplace team, the Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for maintaining healthy and safe work conditions for employees via programs and services.Responsibilities:Evaluates the requirements of the workforce and recognizes the principal, secondary, and tertiary measures for developing health and avoiding injuries and illnesses.Comprehensive entries are made regarding evaluations, therapies, results, employment status, health checks, and educational programs.Provides support for conducting health evaluations and health appraisals (pre-employment physicals, health check-ups, hearing exams, eye assessments, procedures for handling exposure to bloodborne pathogens, drug examinations) for the purpose of detecting and monitoring any potential threats to the well-being of the employees.The company provides health promotion incentives and informative materials to encourage healthier lifestyles among its employees.Effectively relays pertinent health-related data to the organization in a prompt and polished manner such as updates regarding work-related injuries, statuses on returning to work, results of laboratory testing, and drug screening outcomes.Ensures that employee health records are maintained transparently and with clarity, meeting all the requirements of the department, the organization, and relevant regulations or legislation.Protecting the privacy of employee health information and medical records is a top priority.Executes any additional tasks as directed.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required:• Associate Degree in NursingPreferred:• Bachelor's degree in NursingEXPERIENCE:• No prior experience requiredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDRequired:Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
