A pharmaceutical company is looking for a Controller to manage their finance and accounting functions. The company relies on the Controller to provide information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company future. This position has the primary responsibility for the integrity of the accounting books and records of multiple companies.Essential Duties:• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.• Oversees the month-end close and general ledger.• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.• Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.• Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.• Creates Cash Flow Projections.• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.• Works with the external CPA Firm and provides needed information for the annual audit and tax filings.• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements and understands international tax implications.• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.• Oversees the operations of the accounting function, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, payroll and project management.• Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.• This is a very hands-on position.Educational & Experience Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.• Ten years of related experience in accounting.• Hands on experience with SAP and QuickBooks• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Excellent organizational and time management skills.• Excellent management and supervisory skills.• Administrative skills in computers and various applications.• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.The company provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origins, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
