Position: Vice President ControllerLocation: Dallas, TX or Charlotte, CA (Hybrid)Pay: $150,000+/year (depending on experience)Experience:• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience.• Experience in SEC reporting and SOX compliance.• Proven experience in leading the global accounting function of a fast-growing technology company.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.The Vice President, Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP. This role will manage the Accounting function, support external audits, and implement best-in-class financial systems and controls. The VP Controller will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive process improvements as the company grows. Additionally, this role will serve as a key partner to the CFO and executive leadership, providing strategic financial guidance.Job Description:• Lead and manage all accounting functions, including Corporate Accounting, Consolidations, Monthly Close, External Audit Management, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Accounts Payables, and Accounts Receivables.• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in compliance with US GAAP.• Prepare the processes and infrastructure to support SEC reporting and other regulatory filings, while maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) in preparation for an eventual public offering.• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring the timely and successful completion of financial audits and resolving accounting issues.• Design, implement, and monitor internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and maintain SOX compliance.• Provide expertise on technical accounting issues and complex transactions, ensuring proper accounting treatment for areas such as revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and business combinations.• Partner with FP&A, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and other departments to support the company’s financial operations and strategic initiatives.• Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to optimize accounting operations, including automation, process streamlining, and enhancing ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Floqast, etc.).• Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.• Collaborate with the executive leadership team to provide financial insights and analysis that support strategic decision-making, including M&A activity, capital structure optimization, and long-term planning.• Lead the accounting aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, integration of acquired entities, and accounting for purchase price allocation.Position Requirements:• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting standards.• Prior experience in a software technology or staffing company.• Hands-on experience with accounting systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or similar ERP) and financial reporting tools.• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple geographies.• Experience managing complex audits and working with Big 4 accounting firms.• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives, cross-functional teams, and external auditors.• Expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606) and stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718).• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and process improvement projects.• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.• Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
