The Director Marketing is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities related to defining, implementing, and executing market strategy, promotional initiatives and achieving financial results within the US market for the Sports Medicine business. Key financial metrics include performance versus annual revenue and growth, share, and EBIT targetsThis leadership position is also responsible for the development and execution of the Global Upstream strategy for Sports Medicine.A key area of focus is related to talent; managing and developing a high-performing, diverse team of marketing professionals.Key Duties and Responsibilities:• Develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives to increase US product line growth and revenue generation and meet defined margin targets for the Sports Medicine categories, the primary focus; BioBrace, Shoulder and Knee arthroscopy. Key areas in the development of the strategic plan include; sales enablement, medical education, society events, digital marketing, as well as general product management activities.• Lead the financial forecast and demand planning processes for the Sports Medicine categories.• Establishes overall pricing strategies for the sports medicine category and partners with Health Care Systems to define strategies for GPO’s and IDN’s. Develop strategies and lead the execution of activities to increase product adoption at key IDN’s.• Lead initiatives to understand, analyze and demonstrate the clinical, economic, and societal value to payers, hospitals, decision-makers, and influencers. Develop KPIs and metrics to assess impact of key initiatives.• Lead your team in the preparation and execution of comprehensive new product introductions.• Manage, coach and develop US Product Management professionals who are responsible for;• Collaborating with internal and external resources to monitor, understand, and respond to competitive product performance, branding, messaging, and tactics.• Enthusiastically promote the portfolio with customers (sales management, reps & surgeons) at society events, sales meetings and through digital marketing strategies.• Leverage their knowledge through the development of marketing collateral, key messages and product training to ensure that US sales team are fully equipped to sell products/solutions.• Partner with Sales, Health Care Systems and Supply Chain to guide and support pricing and selling activities to meet sales revenue and operating earnings targets, inventory management and overall product lifecycle support.• Partner with global marketing core teams to understand unmet needs and develop a multi year product pipeline as part of the annual strategic planning process.• Support new product development teams as the marketing lead responsible for executing the commercial elements of the design control process.• Prepare and execute comprehensive product launches.• Support Sales Training and Medical Education as the product/market SME to develop content used for educational purposes.Minimum Requirements:• Bachelor’s in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or Sciences (MBA preferred)• 10 years experience in Orthopedic marketing and management of direct reports, 10 years experience in Sports Medicine marketing preferred• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)• 40% travelDisclosure as required by state law, the annual salary range for this position is $145,000-$225,000.
