Construction Apprentice

Tri Pointe Homes Orange County-Los Angeles is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join our talented group as a Construction Apprentice.


Position Highlights: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in safety training and wellness activities.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately from their occurrence.
  • Assist in managing the completion of the Construction Manager Punch list/ PCI list.
  • Help to prep house for walks
  • Monitor and maintain the models as needed and report their condition to the job site Construction Manager or Assistant Construction Manager.
  • Maintain the appearance of exteriors and garages.
  • Maintain professional appearance inside models and around the model park.
  • Lock and unlock homes daily.
  • Any additional tasks as directed by job site Construction Manager and Assistant Construction Manager.
  • Coordinate repairs necessary with the construction team.
  • Perform minor touch up, maintenance, and repairs as necessary, i.e., caulking, etc.
  • Verify all options are installed and functioning properly.
  • Review Move-in, Service, and Quality Eliant surveys.
  • Perform other duties or projects as requested.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience is required. Some construction knowledge and experience are preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to understand instructions and deal with standardized situations with minimum problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to favorably interact with co-workers, field personnel, other departments’ personnel, and supervisors/management as well as external customers.
  • Willingness to be flexible and to be an integral part of a team, and to support other staff members, supervisors, and management goals and objectives.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must be physically able to walk construction projects over rough terrain, climb ladders, ascend second floors and roofs, etc.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 90 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and color vision.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: The expected Base Salary range for this position is between $28.17-35.38 per hour, equivalent to $58,650-73,600 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a quarterly performance-based cash bonus. Quarterly bonuses are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s applicable incentive plan document.
