UI Designer

UI Designer is needed in Boston, United States. Client: ButcherBox Location: Boston, MA Contract: Temporary, Temp-to-hire, Contract Job Description The Senior UI Designer (UI Designer III) will be a key member of the Product Design Team, responsible for turning our product vision into reality. With expertise in visual design, typography, iconography, illustrations, and UI design, you will play a critical role in building comprehensive UI design systems grounded in strong UI and Visual design principles. In this contract-to-hire position, you will lead the creation and organization of our Freezer UI Library in Figma, ensuring it is well-documented to deliver cohesive and engaging web experiences across all platforms.You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/Product Designers, Product Managers, UI Engineers, and Brand & Marketing teams, to create high impact UI solutions and visual assets that are beautiful, compelling, and engaging. This role reports to the Associate Director of Product Design.This is a temporary, contract position with a duration of approximately 8 weeks.Responsibilities• Lead the creation and maintenance of robust, scalable, and efficient Freezer UI design system in Figma, ensuring consistency across all platforms and devices.• Document comprehensive guidelines for all UI components to ensure that UX designers, UI engineers, and other stakeholders clearly understand how to implement and utilize the UI elements.• Maintain a consistent visual language across all digital touchpoints, ensuring that our design system is continuously improved, updated, and adopted by all product teams.• Collaborate with UX/Product designers, PMs, UI engineers, and other stakeholders to align design work with project goals and user needs. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that the design vision is consistently executed throughout the web experience.• Expertly manage projects and timelines with excellent attention to detail, driving execution while maintaining design quality and integrity.• Effectively communicate design concepts, rationale, and decisions to stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of the design vision.• Stay on top of current trends in UI/visual design, motion design, and typography to inform and inspire your work and the team.Requirements• 5+ years of experience in UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in visual design, typography, iconography, illustrations, and motion design.• Proven experience in developing and maintaining UI design systems, including creating detailed documentation and ensuring adherence to UI design principles and frameworks.• E-commerce experience is highly preferred.• Strong proficiency in design tools, particularly Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools. Experience with motion design tools is a plus.• Strong sense of visual design with a deep understanding of design theory, typography, layout, composition, color theory, and visual hierarchy.• Expertise in UI design for websites and applications across multiple platforms, including mobile, desktop, and tablets.• Strong attention to detail with the capability to produce refined, pixel-perfect designs and comprehensive documentation for seamless developer handoff.• Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with product designers, PMs, engineers, and marketing teams to bring projects to life.• Strong ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for best practices in UI and visual design, proposing thoughtful improvements when needed.• Proficiency in motion design with the ability to create smooth, engaging animations and micro-interactions that enhance the user experience is preferred and considered a bonus.Posted 7 days ago
