The Controller is responsible for the oversight of all operational and technical accounting, financial reporting, SOX compliance, and payroll and treasury functions. The Controller leads a team of 15-20 local and overseas professionals in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements under both US GAAP and IFRS. The Controller is responsible for internal and external communications with senior management, investors, lenders, and vendors, and is charged with maintaining and improving our financial systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Our company is growing and the controller must be able to scale the department and support a high growth company with rapidly evolving business operations.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Lead, manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting function and team, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, royalties, technical accounting, payroll and treasury

Lead month-end and year-end close process; ensure a timely and accurate process through active oversight of the accounting team and active management of the audit

Maintain and implement best-in-class reporting standards, income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, chart of accounts, statutory accounting to U.S. GAAP and IFRS reconciliations, key metrics and reporting calendars for the monthly close, consolidation, and audit requirements

Authorize vendor payments and monitor cash and debt levels, as well as compliance with debt covenants

Support the Tax function, including review and approval of the quarterly provision as well as other annual assumptions and memos

Actively manage the roll-out of the Company’s full SOX compliance program for FY23

Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

Perform analysis to understand variances in financial and operational drivers

Maintain business processes and critical accounting policies

Partner closely with the FP&A function to support data needs and analysis; identify areas of financial and operational opportunities and work with leaders to drive improvement

Maintain key relationships with our external auditor, our parent company and key financial vendors providing non-audit services

Support the audit process for financial statements under local GAAP of our international subsidiaries

Liase with Finance, Legal, HR, and other business leaders to communicate critical accounting issues, provide support on questions or new initiatives, and communicate back to the Accounting team on learned action items

Provide accounting support to new business deals, international expansion, financings, acquisitions, and any other new company initiative

Lead business transformation efforts in conjunction with corporate strategic priorities

Actively manage, mentor and coach team members; inspire and encourage continued growth and development

This is more than just a leadership position. It is also a hands-on role with an emphasis on continuous improvement. Person will be expected to get in the trenches and be significantly involved with the details and not just be a delegator

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics from an accredited University and CPA required

Experience with SOX compliance processes and audits required

Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS reporting standards required

Experience with foreign public parent reporting preferred

Ability to manage multiple deliverables and high priority tasks

Attention to detail and high level of accountability

Superior interpersonal and written and oral communication skills

Demonstrated ability to solve problems and work well with cross-functional groups, including Executive Management.
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for this role. The range listed is just one component of Jam City's total compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, or market demands. This range is based on a full-time position. This range may be modified in the future. In addition, Jam City provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, life, disability, and accident insurance. Pay Range: $174k - $304k
