We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Planner with a background in Civil Engineering to join our dynamic team in the energy sector. The successful candidate will have experience in the construction industry, knowledge of civil engineering and project controls to help support our expansion across the UK. Our team is multi-disciplinary so a wide range of experience and/or willingness to learn is crucial.

🔹 You’ll

  • Lead the planning team in the development of the schedule estimates for construction works ensuring they are robust, realistic and defensible

  • Define the Basis of Estimate for the construction schedule scope (including key assumptions and exclusions)

  • Close integration with both the Cost and Risk Management teams to ensure alignment of all estimates and assumptions

  • Work with the Risk team to support the QSRA process

  • Identify and manage key internal and external interfaces including, procurement, consents, dependent projects, etc

  • Work closely with key internal/external stakeholders ensuring buy-in to the Programme’s construction schedule

  • Ensure schedule estimates are validated through the use of benchmark data, and design information (BIM)

 

🔹 We’re looking for:

Essential

  • 10+ years planning experience working on a variety of construction and infrastructure projects

  • Civil Engineering Background

  • Proficient in Microsoft Project / Primavera P6

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

  • Knowledge and experience in elements of construction (e.g. Civils, M&E, etc)

  • Experience working on major construction and infrastructure projects

  • Excellent communication skills, including English language and visual presentations (e.g. PowerPoint), with the ability to analyse and present information clearly and persuasively

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience working with BIM, parametric estimating and 4D planning

  • Qualified to degree level, would be advantageous as would having formal project management qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2

  • Knowledge of procurement (OJEU) and forms of contracts (NEC 3, JCT, FIDIC, etc)

  • Membership of a professional body, APM, ICE, CIOB

📍 Requirements and Location:

  • Full right to work in the UK

  • Working from home and 2 days in London
