Job Summary


Provides support and leadership for district certificated staff with coordinated professional growth and development including the development, promotion, and implementation of professional learning activities in a variety of formats within and beyond the district. This role will include both leadership and technical assistance of a professional learning management system initiative, implementation, and monitoring for all stakeholders.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities: List, in the order of importance or time spent, the essential and position specific duties/tasks performed by the position. This is not an exhaustive list and employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required. Regular and reliable attendance is an expectation of the job.


Essential Duty 1:


Collaborates with Stakeholders district-wide at all levels to develop and facilitate a variety of professional learning types and designs content for teachers.


Essential Duty 2:


Identify priorities for professional learning based on the district’s strategic plan, student achievement data and staff needs data.


Essential Duty 3:


Delivers innovative, research-based, and job-embedded learning opportunities, and implements district-wide initiative for professional coaching that supports school-based leaders in the ongoing development and effectiveness of Professional Learning Communities


Position Specific Responsibility 1:


Utilizes Learning Management Systems to support Professional Learning Communities across the district, zone and schools.


Position Specific Responsibility 2:


Plan the delivery structure for content and support for school and district teams on topics within the scope of the work; Provide professional learning for school/district teams (leveraging the distributive leadership model) to maximize the professional learning experiences of staff.


Position Specific Responsibility 3:


Develop and communicate protocols and procedures for data-based decision making at the district and school level; provide technical assistance on utilizing data to drive professional learning planning at the school and district levels.


Position Specific Responsibility 4:


Participate in professional development opportunities and coordinate and facilitate district-level professional development offerings;


Position Specific Responsibility 5:


Maintain a collection of professional materials related to high-quality professional development and reflective of current research.


Other Responsibilities:


Performs other duties or tasks as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities in this job classification.


Education and Experience Requirements


Education (training/degree):


Master's Degree from an accredited institution in education, curriculum development or a related field required.


Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required:


Must hold or be eligible for a certificate or license issued by the Tennessee Department of Education with a related endorsement. Must hold a TN Instructional Leadership License (ILL) or equivalent Administrative certificate or license.


Experience:


Minimum 3 years successful classroom teaching experience or 5 years of related experience preferred; instructional technology degree or certification preferred, demonstrated ability to integrate technology


Skills Required:


Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; Ability to relate and interact positively with teachers, other staff, students, administrators, Support Hub personnel, parents, and the public; Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form; Competency in adult learning theory and the development and leadership of professional learning opportunities for instructional staff and parents

Meal Deduction – Most Bransford office and district level employee have a meal deduction. They are scheduled 8.5 hours per day and get an hour lunch. Itinerants and retirees get a 30 minute lunch period and therefore do not have a meal deduction. All school based employees will not have a meal deduction. Auto Meal Deduction


Travel – Itinerant non-exempt employees who travel will be using the time clock differently than others and are paid for travel time between work locations. Employee does not or seldom travels


Compensatory Time vs. Overtime (Support Non-Exempt Employees only) – Does this department have overtime budgeted, i.e. Maintenance, Transportation, Food Service. If not, employees accrue comp time only. Exempt Employee - can not accrue comp or overtime

Physical Demands:
