The Risk Management Program is designed to protect the human and financial assets of the organization against the adverse effects of accidental losses, effectively managing the losses that may occur, and enhance continuous improvement of patient care services in a safe healthcare environment. Under general supervision of the Risk Manager, the Risk Coordinator performs a variety of administrative functions including, but not limited to: assisting the Risk Manager in claims reporting and lawsuit management, having a general knowledge of facility insurance programs. managing the contract administration process at St. Francis-Emory Healthcare, assists in the maintenance of an accurate central repository for all contracts at the Hospital, completing assignments by deadline, completing rush assignments as requested; keep files and records up-to-date, accurate, and complete as observed by Manager; maintain accurate and grammatically correct correspondence, memos and reports; preparing reports to communicate data findings and analysis of information, and having a general knowledge of facility insurance programs. Assists the Risk Manager implementing and documenting an integrated, comprehensive, proactive risk-management program for all hospital and community based programs, designed to monitor and, when possible, eliminate the risk of injury to patients, visitors, and employees, and protect the hospital’s financial resources.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
X High school diploma or equivalent X Required
Four-year degree preferred.
Experience in healthcare or legal setting preferred.
Required Skills
Requires strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Computer proficiency and ability to maintain highly confidential information. General knowledge of medical/legal terminology. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take decisive
Minimum Work Experience
Five (5) years experience performing highly responsible administrative and other duties in a healthcare environment preferred.
