JOB TITLE SUMMARY
Job Title: Coordinator, Student Involvement
Division: Academic and Student Affairs
Evaluation Group: Staff
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Associate Director, Student Involvement
Positions Supervised: Student employee
Job Summary
The coordinator of student involvement collaborates with and supports the student involvement staff to ensure the needs of students and other constituents are addressed in a timely manner. This position coordinates general office management, as well as provides support to students and student organizations interacting with the office of student involvement.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators
The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
Job Responsibilities and Execution
  • Utilizes Workday to process all student organizations’ financial requisitions and purchases
  • Serves as the approved requisition creator for Student Involvement
  • Utilizes Involve U forms to manage organization requests (i.e. Tabling, Equipment, Graphic Design, Print Request, etc.)
  • Advises students on and verifies compliance with University policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations
  • Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA)
  • Coordinates Student Involvement equipment rentals for use by students, faculty, and staff, including overseeing the equipment rental calendar
  • Supervises undergraduate student workers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and approving timesheets
Service Excellence
  • Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork
  • Supports Lindenwood students by providing a space for diverse student populations that allows for wholistic extracurricular development
  • Provides high quality customer service for the Office of Student Involvement
Communication, Teamwork, and Collaboration
  • Maintains Student Involvement promotional materials and social media pages and ensure they align with University brand guidelines
  • Coordinates with student organizations to ensure they are following event rules and guidelines
  • Updates the University website and calendar with events, meetings, and important dates
  • Communicates with student worker applicants throughout the selection and hiring process
  • Participates in campus-wide planning committees such as Homecoming, Family Day, Winterfest, Siblings Day, etc.
  • Selects, trains, and supervises student workers on various processes, including disciplinary actions and termination procedures
  • Assists all areas of Student Involvement with coordination and execution of events
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related field
  • Minimum one year of demonstrated experience with budget management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.

  • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of student organization management systems
Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions.

  • Some weekend and evening hours required for campus-wide events
