Overview:
The Copywriter/Editor position is an intergral member of the Corporate Communications team. The position will require 2 days in our Worcester office (typically Mondays & Thursdays) and 3 days remote. We are looking for an energetic and creative writer/editor with a writing portfolio that can juggle multiple competing deadlines with quick turn around time.

Brief Summary of purpose:
The Copywriter/Editor is responsible for the concepting, writing, editing, and proofreading of assigned corporate and marketing communication materials for various audiences including employees, prospects, members, providers, brokers, and the community. Works collaboratively with members of the Corporate Relations team to help implement communication strategies for various audiences.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Develops creative concepts and appropriate copy for communications materials.

Provides editing/proofreading expertise on copy developed by other members of the Corporate Relations team.

Develops a strong understanding of regulatory requirements/constraints.

Creates materials that accurately reflect defined communication plans and strategies, and that represent Fallon Health’s brand and culture.

Researches, as needed, Fallon Health and competitor products/services/image to ensure ability to write accurate, on-target copy/concepts for assigned projects that successfully position the organization with target audiences.
- Adheres to correct grammar usage, clarity, proper tone, and corporate style.

Participates in special projects as assigned that further the communication goals of Fallon Health.

Engages in any professional development or training necessary to stay current both within the health care industry and area of expertise, including state and federal regulations that govern communications-related activities.
Qualifications:
Experience
-
Four to seven years’ experience with a strong corporate or marketing background that demonstrates writing for results.
- Prolific writer with experience working in a highly regulated, competitive field for a corporate industry. Health care or insurance background preferred.

Strong time and/or project management, editing, and proofreading skills are necessary.
- Must have ability to write clear, compelling copy in a variety of formats (ads, newsletters, blogs, social posts, press releases, website, annual report, RFP responses, etc.) and styles for a variety of audiences (employees, customers, etc.), interpreting complex information and presenting it in a clear format.

Demonstrated experience interviewing subjects for features and articles and pitching and presenting concepts.

Must have experience with AP style and usage and excellent command of standard American English, and its spelling and grammar.
- Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, or the ability to quickly acquire and use such terminology.
- Ability to establish and adjust priorities, handle multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Must be detail oriented.
