About the role:

The Core-SIP VoIP Developer will join a highly motivated software development team that creates and maintains UCX software for businesses. You will be working with IP telephony services (VoIP) allowing our customers to receive services such as phone calls, voice mail, call center, conferences, faxes, etc. Your focus will include the development of new and support of existing modules of the server part of VOIP service, writing documentation, interaction with our QA team.

Location: Portugal - Remote | MUST BE LOCATED IN PORTUGAL

What you will be doing:

• Development of modules for the VOIP Service and its Components (new features, security, and compliance)
• Maintenance of existing modules that are used in Intermedia's highly reliable cloud based VOIP platform
• Write technical documentation (architecture, services description)
• Coordinate with QE regarding the CORE VOIP testing strategy and tools used
• Coordinate and work with DevOps regarding Continuous Deployment and Observability

What you will bring to the role:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent related work experience
• 3+ years Programming experience in C++ including stl and boost
• Experience with TCP and UDP networking protocols
• Strong knowledge of OOP principles
• Good understanding of SOA and Microservices architectures and design patterns
• Experience in multi-threaded programming
• Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment, using virtual machines and containers
• Knowledge of principles of developing and building in Linux environments (make, bash, etc)
• Hands-on experience writing clean and testable code (unit testing)
• Strong knowledge of Git version control System (GitLab, Bitbucket, etc)
• Basic knowledge of SQL
• Ability to understand someone else's code
• Good Analytical skills
• Outstanding communication skills (English), proactive, problem solver, team player

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in C++ (C++11/C++14)
• Experience with Telcom and VoIP technologies including SIP, RTP, SRTP, G.722, G.711, G.729A protocols
• Experience with MySQL
• Experience in developing high-load applications
• Experience with Network technologies and peer-to-peer communication (NAT, ICE, STUN, TURN)
• Experience with voice quality metrics, jitter, packet loss, Mean Opinion Scores (MOS), Quality of Service (QoS)
• Working experience with Agile development incorporating CI
