Paralegal

Cottingham & Butler is looking to hire a Paralegal - this is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the C&B Legal Team! This position will support attorneys in researching and analyzing legal issues, reviewing documents, and ensuring that C&B’s operations comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and other relevant state and federal laws.Essential Functions• Maintain legal files, schedule meetings, and coordinate correspondence.• Assist with discovery, fact investigation, and legal research.• Support compliance inquiries and HIPAA training.• Serve as the HIPAA Corporate Privacy Officer.• Monitor state reporting obligations for non-HIPAA privacy incidents.• Manage subpoenas and signature authority.• Assist with contract review.• Perform other duties as assigned.This position requires an understanding of legal practices and HIPAA and privacy regulations, strong problem solving and communication skills, and proficiency in Excel & Word.About Cottingham & ButlerAt Cottingham & Butler, we sell a promise to help our clients through life’s toughest moments.
