Counterintelligence Investigator, Corporate Investigations Corporate Investigations & Signals Operations: As part of the Global Security Organization, Corporate Investigations is continually focused on raising awareness, refining processes, and utilizing forward thinking investigative techniques to lead the discovery and integration of intelligence in order to identify, analyze and resolve risk to the People, Information and Operations of Corning Incorporated. The Counterintelligence Investigator supports the corporate investigative process through multisource analysis. This role will be responsible for an assortment of analytical, operational, and investigative counterintelligence functions to defend against threats of espionage, theft of trade secrets/intellectual property, intelligence collection, and other potential risks to critical assets, technologies, programs and personnel. The Values of Integrity, Quality, and the Individual are of utmost importance to the Corporate Investigations team.


Daily Responsibilities include:

  • Lead counterintelligence investigations, including development of internal and external risk profiles and potential mitigations based on analytical findings.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze all-source data concerning counterintelligence threats.
  • Conduct extensive research, bulk data entry, and collection of information from both proprietary and open-source networks.
  • Review, identify, and analyze trends and inconsistencies in reporting and research findings.
  • Contribute to case reviews, escalate cases based on standard process, and continuously calibrate activity according to investigative needs.

Required skills / qualifications:

  • Strict adherence to the Values of Integrity and the Individual.
  • Experience in conducting investigation of complex counterintelligence cases using a broad range of research methods and data collection/analysis to enhance the investigative mission.
  • International and/or geopolitical analysis experience.
  • Comfortable working in a highly flexible and adaptive environment.
  • Precise, clear, complete, and contextualized report writing.
  • Able to effectively triage urgent and or high-risk matters in an effective and objective manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build working relationships with investigative team members, internal and external partners including law enforcement.
  • Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with diverse groups of individuals and at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to work with ITAR or otherwise federally regulated materials.

Desired skills:

  • Experience in data science, data mining, visualization, data management, APIs, scripting, such as Python
  • Use of statistics for trending and anomaly detection.
  • Language fluency beyond English.
  • An understanding of Corning’s business and assets.
  • Curiosity and a drive to improve.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Data Analysis, Criminal Justice or military/government experience would be relevant.
