About the Role:

Craft is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Core Services team responsible for owning, shaping, and building key features and products used by our customers to do risk due diligence on their suppliers.

The Core Services team(s), aka Discovery and Evaluation or D&E, is growing and covering areas of the business that enable our customers and partners to deepen their risk assessment of either potential suppliers or existing ones. This work covers the full stack from data ingestion and pipeline building to front-end Portal capability that our users interact with.

This role is supported by an amazing product manager, where the two of you will partner to deliver on our mission, and together you have the ownership and authority of a strategy based roadmap.

The team has members in the US and Poland. This is a remote role, but we have a strong preference for candidates based in Eastern or Central time zones due to the current team members’ time zones.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead up to two globally distributed teams with members in the US, Poland, and possibly LATAM.

  • Work closely with your Product Manager counterpart, defining and aligning on priority and execution.

  • Recruit and retain top talent, leading with empathy and accountability.

  • Build a culture of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes, and use metrics to measure change

  • Help lead and contribute to engineering-wide initiatives with your engineering leadership colleagues.

  • Build beautiful, well-tested pipelines and data structures.

  • Have unlimited opportunity for taking ownership of areas with increasing scope, and for technical and leadership growth.

Who You Are:

  • Have a proven successful track record of leading and empowering software development teams for SaaS products.

  • Have experience and a desire to build data lakes and assembled data structures, including data pipelines.

  • 5+ years in the software industry, including at least three years leading engineering teams.

  • You have a good understanding that partnering with the business to deliver real value is a key motivator for keeping your teams happy and healthy.

  • You practice radical responsibility and accountability, with a positive attitude, and a strong emphasis of keeping your teams from getting blocked.

  • Show curiosity through asking questions, digging into new technologies, and always trying to grow.

  • Strong team player, great listener, able to facilitate discussion and assimilate diverse opinions towards clear decisions.

  • Data Pipelines: Python, SQL, Pandas, Dask, aws-data-wrangler, Papermill, Airflow, Prefect

  • Data Storage: Databricks, RDS / Aurora Postgres, DynamoDB, AWS S3
