Creative Content Manager

The Creative Content Manager will be responsible for developing and executing compelling content strategies for the athletic department with a focus on men's and women's basketball teams. This position will work closely with the coaching staff, players, and other team members to create engaging content for various platforms, including social media, marketing materials, and recruiting efforts.

  • Skills;
    • Excellent photography and videography skills, with a keen eye for capturing compelling moments and storytelling.
    • Proficiency in video editing software and graphic design tools.
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices for content engagement.
    • Creative thinking and ability to generate fresh ideas for content creation.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the coaching staff, players, and other team members.
    • Knowledge of basketball and familiarity with the game's terminology, culture, and nuances.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality content that aligns with the team's branding.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and game days, as required by team events and content needs.

Essential Functions

  • Develops the communication and brand strategy for individual program(s)
  • Writes, designs, and coordinates the production of communication and marketing materials
  • Recommends integrated marketing plans / programs and strategies to meet business objectives
  • Guides event planning and execution as needed to support marketing objectives
  • Assists in vendor management on specific projects
  • Conducts market research and analysis used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting
  • Assesses market opportunities and track market trends
  • Recommends marketing improvements based on findings
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Additional Functions

  • Handle all recruiting content for campus visits, photoshoots, and collateral for graphics and video outreach requested by the coaching staff.
  • Provide comprehensive coverage of team events, practices, designated travel experiences, and other behind-the-scenes content for both men's and women's basketball teams.
  • Develop and implement content plans and strategies for the basketball teams' social media accounts throughout the year.
  • Assist with creating marketing and communications graphics for weekly awards, specific team milestones, statistical highlights, birthday and holiday graphics.
  • Collaborate with the coaching staff and players to understand their vision and objectives for content creation, ensuring alignment with the team's branding and messaging.
  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of practices, games, and events to be used in various content initiatives.
  • Edit and produce creative and engaging videos that showcase the team's talent, culture, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in sports content creation, social media, and digital marketing.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional visual aesthetic across all content platforms, ensuring adherence to the team's brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure content aligns with broader departmental initiatives and campaigns.
  • Track and analyze the performance of content across different channels, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Assist with creative projects within the athletics department as requested.
  • Team travel as necessary
