JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Assistant Director and responsible for the international credential evaluation process within the Graduate Application unit at Northeastern University, the Credential Evaluator supports the application process for international applications at all nine colleges at Northeastern University. The position is responsible for processing 50,000+ bachelor, graduate, and doctoral program applications each academic year to facilitate the enrollment of talented students at Northeastern University.
This position will be a Boston-based or remote position. The Credential Evaluator works as part of a highly motivated professional team and is responsible for supporting the conversion of applicants into enrollment for all domestic and international students’ applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

In close coordination with the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions - International Credential Evaluation, the Credential Evaluator will review international academic credentials and transcript evaluations of coursework from foreign institutions of higher learning and any documentation of prior learning submitted by applicants; review the documents for authenticity, follow-up for authenticity with the academic document issuing institution or county-based authentication process as required, confirm authenticity of the document as required, prepare appropriate evaluation reports that will be used by the Enrollment Management team as part of the admissions decision and transfer credit award process; and Meet evaluation turnaround timelines to enable the enrollment management team to make timely admissions decisions.

Effectively coordinate an admission application, this individual will maintain meticulous records of foreign credentials data of students, country-wise grading scale, conversion scale, and stay updated with AACRAO foreign credentials conversion scales and updates. This role will also regularly attend professional development programs to stay updated on educational systems, credentials, and authentication process of academic documents worldwide.

Serve multiple university offices such as the related admission offices and the International Enrollment Management team to provide customer service, leading to a high rate of application completion and enrollment conversion. The Evaluator will be responsible for delivering a smooth and welcoming applicant experience.

Key areas of focus include (but are not limited to) maintaining data integrity within the admissions process, improving operational processes to meet a high level of service for students, and responding to student/internal service tickets and communications regularly through the pre-enrollment lifecycle of a student.

This position will support the overall completion and admissions decision-making on student admissions records as applicable or required; this may include but is not limited to facilitation with the College/Program Directors for admissions review/decision, collecting and reviewing admissions documents for completion, and coordinating additional document submissions from students, following up regularly with the applicants directly or through application processors, on-ground NU representatives on required documents for completion of the application, ensuring application completion rules as established by the Colleges are met, processing applications for review upon completion, facilitating student record creation, rendering admissions decisions as applicable or facilitating with the College/Program Directors for admissions review/decision, communicating application status and decisions, and managing the enrollment confirmation/deposit process, application status report, facilitation of visa document issuance to international students, support matriculation and finally a collection of official transcripts, verify and load to admissions systems for application file completion upon student enrollment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum bachelor’s degree is required.

2 to 3 years of experience in admissions and application processing, college admissions, and/or other customer service organizations.

Familiarity with international education systems and academic documents required. Prior experience in international credential evaluation required.

Experience working CRM application management processes and systems including but not limited to AY application systems, Salesforce, TargetX, Slate, and ERPs, including Banner for an educational institution · Experience in admissions, counseling, customer service is also preferred.

This position will require a flexible work schedule, including some nights and weekends, and the willingness to travel on an occasional basis.

Proven ability to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills, sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of diverse constituencies, and managing goals.

Ability to multi-task and handle a wide variety of job duties and prioritize based on the supervisory direction.

The candidate will need to be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
